국제중재적 통증전문의란?

국제중재적 통증전문의(FIPP, Fellow of interventional Pain Practice)는 통증의학 및 중재적 통증 시술을 평가하고 질적 수준을 높이기 위해 운영하고 있는 통증전문의 시험입니다. 사체를 이용한 실기시험, 구두시험, 필기시험의 3분야에 걸친 통증치료에 관한 전반적인 지식과 중재적 치료술에 관한 시험에 걸친 전 과정을 영어로 진행하며, 시험을 통과한 사람만이 이 자격을 가질 수 있습니다. 국제중재적 통증전문의(FIPP, Fellow of interventional Pain Practice) 자격 취득은 미국 내에서 4년간 수련과정과 1년 이상의 임상강사과정 이상을 마치고 통증의학전문의 자격을 얻는 것과 동등한 자격입니다. 전 세계적으로 국제중재적 통증전문의는 600여명이며 아시아권에서는 합격자가 드물며, 우리나라에서는 유수의 대학병원 교수들을 포함하여 소수만이 그 자격을 가지고 있습니다.
